The Center for Psychological and Educational Assessment (CPEA) is committed to protecting the privacy of every client, family member, and visitor who interacts with our practice. It applies to our website at atlantachildpsych.com, our college assessments site at ed-testing.com, and all services provided at our Atlanta, Marietta, and Cumming locations.

Clinical Information & HIPAA

As a licensed psychological practice, CPEA is required to follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). All clinical information you share with us, including intake forms, evaluation results, written reports, and any information discussed during sessions, is protected health information (PHI) under federal law.

We maintain a separate Notice of Privacy Practices that describes in full detail how your clinical health information is used and disclosed. This notice is provided to every client at the start of services and is available upon request by calling our office at 770.352.9952.

Your clinical records will not be shared with any person or organization without your written authorization, except in the following circumstances:

  • When disclosure is required by law or court order

  • When failure to disclose would place you or another person at substantial risk of harm

  • When required for treatment, payment, or healthcare operations as permitted under HIPAA
