Educational Services
Penny
Tenoschok, M.Ed. has over 25 years experience as an educator. She
has a Master of Education degree is Special Education from the
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Science
degree in Special Education from Appalachian State University.
Penny completed an internship with Dr. Mel Levine while at UNC-CH and
has taken additional classes with Dr. Levine and his staff. She
holds a Georgia Teacher Certification in Interrelated Special Education,
Learning Disabilities, Behavior Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities,
and Teacher Support Specialist. In addition, she has taken
additional coursework in reading, writing, assessment, general
curriculum, and Instructional Technology. She has taught students
in grades 2 through 8 with a wide range of abilities. She has
served as an Educational Diagnostician in a local school district and a
regional developmental evaluation center where she completed individual
academic and general cognitive testing, interpreted students' assessed
skills for parents and teachers, and developed goals and suggested
appropriate curriculum and strategies based on the analysis of the
students' skills and learning style. Her specialized training
includes autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and academic intervention
programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Language!, and CRISS strategies.
